Preview:
The 2024 AEW WrestleDream is the upcoming professional wrestling pay-per-view hosted by AEW. This is the second annual WrestleDream event, which is all set to take place on October 12, 2024, from the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, Washington, United States. The show pays tribute to the NJPW’s founder Antonio Inoki.
Atlantis Jr. will be defending the ROH World Television Championship against Brian Cage in a single match in the pre-show. As per speculations, Atlantis Jr. will defeat Cage to retain his ROK World Television title. Mark Briscoe will be defending his ROH World Championship against Chris Jericho in a singles match. As per speculations, Jericho will defeat Briscoe to win the ROH World title with the help of Big Bill and Bryan Keith. Darby Allin will be squaring off against Brody King in a singles match. As per speculations, both could deliver a tough fight, however, Allin will defeat King to win the match. ‘The Scapegoat’ Jack Perry will be defending the AEW TNT Championship against Katsuyori Shibata in a singles match. As per speculations, Perry will defeat Shibata to retain the title. Will Ospreay will be defending his AEW International Championship against Ricochet and Konosuke Takeshita in a three-way match. This match is expected to be the highlight of the evening. As per speculations, Ospreay will retain the title in the mix.
Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson of The Young Bucks will be defending the AEW World Tag Team Championship against Zay and Quen of the Private Party. As per speculations, Young Bucks will defeat Private Party to retain the title. “The Glamour” Mariah May will be defending her AEW Women’s World Championship against the former champ Willow Nightingale in a singles match. As per speculations, May will defeat Nightingale to retain the title. “Hangman” Adam Page will be facing Jay White in a singles match. As per speculations, Swerve Strickland could interfere during the match seeking revenge, which could help Jay White secure a win against Page.
Shelton Benjamin joining AEW brings two-thirds of the factions together. The expectation is for Bobby Lashley to debut on PPV. It depends on which version of Strickland we are getting. The cold-blooded killer or something new after being stabbed in the face with a needle and knocked beyond silly into the realms of disturbing violent splendor at All Out. It seems uncertain if Strickland will come along without backup. A man who made Strickland’s back in TV segments earlier this year with Will Ospreay and in training videos is “The Judge” EJ Nduka. An ROH star, former MLW champion, and WWE development talent that Triple H compared to The Rock in terms of work ethic. Nduka’s career and prospects you can read about here. AEW has, in the past, delayed gratification from such angles. Put off the decision-making and the clear direction until Dynamite in a week or two. Not long ago, Page said if Strickland had a thousand houses, he would burn each one down. We’re not just in Strickland’s house but Strickland’s state – where the feud began.
Mansoor and Mason Madden of MxM Collection will be facing Anthony Bowens and Max Caster of The Acclaimed in a tag team match. As per speculations, The Acclaimed will defeat the MxM Collection. Hologram will be facing The Beast Mortos in a two out of three falls match. As per speculations, Hologram will defeat Beast Mortos with the help of Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts. Bryan Danielson will be defending the AEW World Championship against Jon Moxley in a singles match. If Danielson loses the title, his career will end. As per speculations, Claudio Castagnoli, Marina Shafir and PAC could interfere during the match in favor of Moxley, however, Danielson will retain the title with the help of Wheeler Yuta.
